چکیده

Abstract Modified concretes and fiber for rigid pavements have been investigated. Four-factor experiment was conducted. The amount of Portland cement, polypropylene fiber, metakaolin polycarboxylate superplasticizer varied in the experiment. All mixtures had same mobility S2. active mineral additive increases compressive strength concrete its tensile bending. at level 15.20 kg/m 3 is rational. FRP Dowels for Concrete Pavements

A Paper for the World Wise Conference 1999 Winnipeg, Manitoba © November 15, 1999 Introduction Joints are used in concrete pavements in order to control cracking due to thermal and environmental conditions. Dowels span joints to transfer load from one slab to an adjacent slab and to provide vertical and horizontal alignment. Currently, smooth epoxy coated steel dowels are placed across transver...

Durability of Fiber Reinforced Concrete of Marine Structures

The usefulness of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) in various civil engineering applications is indisputable. Fiber reinforced concrete has so far been successfully used in slabs on grade, shotcrete, architectural panels, precast products, offshore structures, structures in seismic regions, thin and thick repairs, crash barriers, footings, hydraulic structures and many other applications. This p...

Marine Durability Characteristics of Rice Husk Ash-Modified Reinforced Concrete

This paper addresses the potential use of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) as a cementitious material in concrete mixes. RHA is produced from the burning of rice husk which is a byproduct of rice milling. The ash content is about 18-22% by weight of the rice husks. Research has shown that concrete made with RHA as a partial cement substitute to levels of 10% to 20% by weight of cement has superior performan...
